Who it's for
Kids · 7–11
Loud, silly and full of surprises. Kids meet real synthesisers, drum machines and sequencers — not toy keyboards — and find out that every sound is something they can build, bend and break.
Along the way they pick up how sound actually works: what makes a note high or low, why one wave buzzes and another hums, how a beat holds a room together. No sheet music, nothing to get wrong, and everyone leaves with a sound that's theirs.

Teens · 12–16
Most teenagers already live inside electronic music. This is where they get behind it. We start from a single wave and build up — a kick, a bassline, a loop, a finished track — on the same instruments that made the records they already love.
Electronic sound is unusually welcoming: you don't need years of lessons to make something that sounds good. Trained musicians, bedroom producers and total beginners all find a way in, and sessions are collaborative by design.

Schools
We arrive with everything — synths, drum machines, mixers, headphones — and shape the session around the year group and skill level in front of us.
The students we most want to reach are the ones traditional music lessons have already lost. Electronic sound gives them a way in that doesn't depend on reading notation or having played an instrument before. Workshops run one to four hours, at your school or in our space.

Electronic sound is already part of your students' daily lives. We help them find the skills to express themselves through it — whatever their perceived level of musical talent. The most thrilling part of our school workshops is watching students who aren't reached by traditional music classes discover a skill they never thought they had.

Why InSound
They just haven't met the right instrument yet. We're not a traditional music school. There's no sheet music to fail at, no years of lessons before you get to make something you love. We put real synths, drum machines and decks in young hands and teach the one thing that matters — how to turn what's in your head into sound you can hear.
We pay particular attention to reaching girls, who leave both music technology and engineering disproportionately early — often before anyone has asked whether they were interested.
About
InSound was founded by Chaimae Boukri — a sound designer and IT engineer based in Berlin.
She works professionally in electronic music as a producer and DJ, and designs site-specific soundscapes for exhibitions, while also working as an engineer in IT. That double background is the reason InSound treats sound as both an art form and a technical craft.
Work with children runs through everything she has done. She has taught languages, and privately guided young people towards music by unconventional routes rather than the classical one — despite, or because of, her own classical training.
With Elles Bougent, an association addressing the underrepresentation of women in engineering, she leads workshops in schools showing children that sound engineering, IT and engineering in general belong as much to girls as to boys. In 2017 she was selected for the Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) on Women's Leadership at the University of Kansas, a U.S. Department of State programme, where her final project was likewise work with children on breaking traditional gender roles.
InSound is where those strands meet: real instruments, real technical skill, and a way into music that doesn't ask a child to fit a mould first.
The team
Every session is led by two facilitators. That's a pedagogical decision: a group of 15 children across four stations cannot be led well by one adult alone.
